The Ohanaeze APC Support Group in Borno State has endorsed Engr. Mustapha Gubio for the 2027 governorship election, pledging to mobilise support for his ambition.
The group announced its endorsement on Saturday during the inauguration of its new office in the Chezcoan area of Maiduguri.

Its coordinator, Chief Ugochukwu Egwudike, said the decision was based on Gubio’s record in public service, particularly his work in reconstruction and the resettlement of communities affected by insurgency.
Egwudike cited Gubio’s former roles as Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement and Commissioner for Works, saying his experience made him suitable to lead the state.

He said the group would mobilise its members and engage stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to advance its political objective ahead of the election.
Responding, Gubio thanked the group for its support and pledged to promote inclusive governance and protect the interests of all sections of the state if elected.

Representatives of non-indigenous communities also expressed support for the endorsement.
Those present at the event included the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori; Senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Shehu Lawan; and member representing Borno Central, Abdulkadri Rahis, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.
