Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has assured residents that all ongoing projects under his administration will be completed, while reaffirming security, resettlement of displaced persons, and social protection as top priorities for 2026.
The governor made the pledge on Thursday during the last Executive Council meeting for the year, which also reviewed the year’s achievements and outlined strategic priorities for the state.
“We will not abandon any project. Everything we started must be completed. Security of our people remains key, and we will continue to ensure maximum protection for all residents of Borno,” Zulum said.
He vowed to intensify efforts to address humanitarian challenges caused by the insurgency, including the resettlement and rehabilitation of victims of Boko Haram, while continuing investments in reconstruction and social protection programmes.
Zulum also commended members of the press for supporting the state’s recovery efforts. “I thank members of the press for their continuous support and contributions in rebuilding Borno. I do not take this for granted,” he said.
The governor concluded that security, infrastructure completion, and welfare programmes will remain central to the government’s agenda as Borno prepares for 2026.
